A Hot Cocoa Kind of Day…

Who doesn’t love hot Cocoa? On a cold snowy day, sitting by the fire with a cup of hot cocoa in hand can make everything else seem miles away.

When we were young, a day of playing in the snow was the best day ever! The only thing better than a snow day, was being able to come inside, after exhausting ourselves outside in the snow. As we sat in front of the television, wrapped up in warm dry clothes, we sipped on a mug of hot cocoa. Of course, at that point, we just had to compete in the chocolate moustache challenge.

My hot cocoa kind of days were the inspiration for “Chenoa and Friends”

Today, I am happy to share a handmade card I made using this newly released digi stamp image.

Let’s get Started…

As always, I size, print and cut my image using my die cutting machine.

I colored Chenoa and Friends with Copic Sketch Markers (full supply list below)

Keeping it Simple…

In keeping the design of this project fairly simple, I spattered Opaque White Ink on Kraft Cardstock to give the appearance of falling snow.

Framing it Out…

I used Kraft Cardstock as my card base as well. I cut a piece of white cardstock slightly smaller and fringed the edges to give it some texture, and then added another piece of Kraft paper, smaller still, and placed it over the fringed piece.

Next, I die cut a small stitched scalloped frame, also from white cardstock, and angled it on my card base with double-sided foam tape, to give my card a little dimension and design interest.

Final Touches…

A couple die cut branches, a snowflake, paper flowers, thin white wire and my card was finished.

I hope I have inspired you today to try something new, or simply create something Fabulously Heart-Warming to bring you, or someone else, a little bit of joy for the moment.
