Die Cutters & Embossers

Die Cutting and Embossing Machines are a definite must-have in my studio.

These machines are a fabulous addition for any card maker or crafter.

Die Cutting & Embossing machines are very convenient and allow you to work with many different materials to:

  • Cut
  • Emboss
  • Stencil

With that Said…

I do not work for any of the companies mentioned in my Cool Crafty Tools. I have purchased all of these products and I personally use them to help create my projects both for my  Artsy Life blog and for my Digi Doodle Studios samples. (please also see my disclaimer below)

Back in the Day…

I began my die cutting and embossing journey with a Cuttlebug many, many years ago. I loved it at the time. Compared to today’s new machines, it was quite cumbersome. But, I still have my trusty Cuttlebug and I even use it on occasion.

Cricut had a sweet Cuttlebug, but I’m not sure if they are still for sale. You can probably find one on ebay if you are looking for one.

Fast Forward…

I have a few current favorite must-have Die Cutting and Embossing Machines…and I use them all!

Wow! When I actually write those words, one might say I may have a craft supply addiction…and they might just be right!

Ok, I’m back

One of my favorite die cutting and embossing machines is Spellbinders Platinum. I use it to cut metal and steal dies for card making and gift boxes, but it can be used for so much more.

Spellbinders Platinum is a powerful option. Some of the attractive features for this stunning machine is:

  • Precision cutting with ease
  • Cuts multiple layers at once
  • Embosses
  • Stencil
  • Spacious
  • Sturdy
  • Accepts large dies
  • Capable of cutting a multitude of different types of materials like
    • Paper
    • Foam
    • Balsa Wood
    • Fabric
    • Leather
    • and much more

Another one of my must-haves is the Sizzix Big Shot Die Cutting Machine

The Sizzix Big Shot is another versatile die cutting and embossing machine. This one sits on my desk beside me when I’m working on a project.

It too has a lot of capabilities:

  • Precision Cuts
  • Thin Dies and Steel Dies
  • Easy to use
  • Embosses
  • Sturdy
  • Spacious
  • Cuts several types of materials
  • Portable

I see no that Sizzix has come out with a new Sizzix Big Shot Express. This one looks fabulous! It is motorized and cuts with the push of a button! Easy right?!

I don’t have that one but, that brings me to my next Die Cutting and Embossing Machine…

My new Gemini Junior.

I bought the Gemini Junior specifically for the ease of cutting my dies electronically. I am a die hard multi tasker, so for me to be able to focus on another task at hand, while my dies are being cut, is a win win!

It’s a fabulous addition to my Studio! I have to say though, it is a little heavy, so if you choose to get one, you may want to park it somewhere handy.

My Gemini Junior is still fairly new to me, so I am still feeling my way around, but so far so good!

Along with the standard plates and rubber mat, the Gemini Junior also comes with several dies and an embossing folder to get you started in now time.

I hope this has helped you in some way in considering a Die Cutting Machine to use for your crafty projects.
