I know that Spring is fully underway already, but it is never too early, late, or even to little, for me to celebrate this fabulous season! Today marks the start of our new Monthly Challenge on our Challenge Blog! The theme this month is “Flower Power” A fitting theme for the fabulous month of May, don’t you think?
With this theme in mind, I am happy to be with you today to share another card that I created using our “Swinging Hearts” Digi Stamp and our “Floral Blends” Digi Paper Pack
I started off by sizing, printing, and cutting my image out, on white card stock, using my die cutting machine. I colored her using Copic Markers and Watercolors (complete supply list below)
I decided to use my “Floral Blends” Digi Paper Pack for this project because I love the colors and the papers are so versatile!
I printed these Floral beauties on white card stock and chose a couple of them to work with for my Swinging into Spring card.
Because this image is seated on a swing, I wanted to created somewhat of an interactive card. So I cut out several frames to create a little depth from my background base.
I used a super fun interactive swing die (listed below) which comes with all the essential parts to create movement. Instead of cutting out the traditional green tree colors, I cut the tree leaves over her head using my Floral Blends papers to keep everything fluid.
In order for my image to move, I cut sever over head tree layers and place “Swinging Hearts” behind the top layer. This created room for her to sway back and forth.
I often love to create shaker cards. I was very tempted to create another on with “Swinging into Spring” but I didn’t want too much going on in the background so I decided to fix a few sequins and tiny flowers to background to give the illusion of floating behind my image.
Once I had all my bottom layers attached to my base, I placed a piece of clear acetate over them and then placed my image and top frame to give it a finished look. The clear acetate layer is really not entirely necessary, but I felt she moved more swiftly with it in place.
I placed my sentiment, from my “Budding Friends” Sentiment Collection, on the upper left of my card. I also added several color coordinated paper flowers and my card was finished!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
I hope you have enjoyed my “Swinging into Spring” project!
