Did I hear someone say snow?!

Skiing is an amazing sport to watch, isn’t it? The speed, the agility, and the freedom of flying down a mountain side seems incredible. I am always fascinated by the skill level of some athletes.

I tried skiing once…it didn’t work out very well!

But this little guy looks likes a pro who is ready to rock the slopes. I couldn’t wait to color “Skiing Bandit” and place him in a wintery scene.

So, today I am sharing a super fun shaker card I created using our new little Winter Critter.

I printed out Skiing Bandit on white card stock and colored my image using Copics, Spectrum Noir Markers and Watercolors (complete supply list below)

For my background of the shaker part of my card, I blended distress oxide inks to create the blue background, and lightly spritzed it with water for a distant snow effect.

I die cut about 4 stitched frames and attached them together to create a boundary for my shaker elements. Then I die cut one more stitched frame to add a piece of clear acetate and a stitched snow drift to add dimension.

I also attached Skiing Bandit to the last stitched frame using a slightly loose piece of very thin fishing line so I could give a little ski action sway movement to Bandit

I also die cut some trees and couple of snowflakes to add to my scene.  I wanted to  be sure not to take away from Skiing Bandit, so my shaker elements are mostly soft glitter and iridescent sequins.

For the base of my card, I used the background paper from our “Fall Plaids” Digi Paper Pack Collection because I love the brown tones and the plaid patterns in this collection.

I printed a super cute sentiment from our new “Snow Days” Sentiment Collection and attached it to the bottom of the Shaker with a large Snowflake and a sparkly enamel dot.

I added the shaker elements, a couple more snowflakes and enamel dots and my card was finished.

Thank you for stopping by!
