There’s just something so special about a snowy day. A quiet peace comes over me, whenever I take a walk, after a heavy snowfall. As much as I really don’t like the cold weather, it is very hard not to be in awe of the beauty of majestic snow covered trees.

Across the Miles…

Recently, a couple of very close friends of mine, ventured across the miles to visit us for awhile. We knew we missed being with them, but we didn’t realize just how much we missed them until we were back together again.

Some of our very best times have been spent with these special friends, and is also the inspiration for my card design.

My Beary Best Days…

Today, I am sharing “My Beary Best Days” handmade card that I created using one of my new Pairables called “Warm Winter Furries”

Creative Inspiration…

Truthfully, most of my card designs happen in my head first. I have to be inspired to illustrate, or create with, a particular image. It’s very rare for me to stare at an image and try to figure out what I will design with it, because I almost always have most of the deign thought out in my head.

This Pairables Digi Stamp Set was no exception. I knew almost immediately, even when I began to draw these little “Warm Winter Furries” that I was going to create this card.

Ready Set Print…

To begin, I sized, printed on marker paper, and then cut my image out using my die cutting machine.

Once cut, I colored my image using Copic Markers and watercolors (full supply list below)

Tip: I say this all the time, because I believe it’s worth saying…If you plan on coloring with markers, you may want to use paper designed for that medium. It really does make a difference when it comes to blending and bleeding. For more info on paper, visit my article on Artist Paper in my Cool Crafty Tools Section

Blending My Background…

I created my background by blending distress inks, splashed it with a little drops of water and sparkled it with a little shimmer. This helped to create the subtle illusion of falling snow. My blended background was simple enough as not to take away from my focal point, “Warm Winter Furries”

I decided to frame my card with snowy trees and snow hills. This card needed dimension so, I attached my die cuts, and my colored image with double-sided foam adhesive.

My sentiment was printed on my front snow hill. I made the hill long enough to wrap around the sides of my card to give it a finished look.

Finishing Touches…

By loosely painting with watercolors I was able to give my snow hills texture and shade.

A few snowflakes, and enamel dots later, and “My Beary Best Days” card was finished.

I hope I have inspired you today to try something new, or simply create something Fabulously Heart-Warming to bring you, or someone else, a little bit of joy for the moment.

Happy Crafting…
