Summer Splash

Summer isn’t over yet! Today is our Summer Splash Release Day!

In honor of this super fun image release, I have created a handmade card using “Splashin’ Ryan”

I love this little guy! He’s so happy and full of summer fun! My son was my inspiration for creating “Splashin’ Ryan!

As I was drawing him, it brought me back to the time when my son, a very cautious child, was young. Everything that had to do with water, the pool, sunshine and summer “protective gear” brought him great joy. And it brought me great joy to see him so happy!

I started off blending my distress oxide inks on the lower portion of my white card stock. I continued to layer my inks until I was satisfied with the result.

Once satisfied, I sprinkled water drops over my paper and let it set for a few seconds before I dabbed it dry with my shammy. Paper towels work just fine for this step as well.

Then I dipped my paint brush in my watered ink reserve and spattered it over my paper to give more of a splashing effect.

I cut out Splashin’ Ryan and colored him with copic markers and watercolors (my go-to mediums)

Once Splashin’ Ryan was colored, I pieced together various splash dies from my extra inked paper.

It doesn’t show up in the pictures, but I also added some Gloss to Splashin’ Ryan’s Goggles.

I made my card using digi papers that I printed from my “Blue Sandy Summer” and “Summer Breeze” Collection I love how they coordinated perfectly together.

I added my Sentiment and some enamel dots, a few more splashes and my card was done!
